Swaffham Golf Club Captain for 2016, Keith Edmond, presented a cheque for £1,000 to NANSA, an independent local Norfolk charity that supports children, teenagers and adults with disabilities across the county.
“We fundraised by holding charity golf competitions, where entrance fees were donated, held a putting competition at the New Members’ Welcome BBQ, and had a ‘Charity Bunker’, where members had to donate for going into the bunker! We also held fundraisers during the Captain’s Weekend and Summer Ball”, explained Mr Edmond.
Tom Garrod, NANSA Trustee said, “We are really grateful for the support from Keith and Swaffham Golf Club as we rely on generous support such as this. The Club have not only raised a fantastic donation but have also raised awareness about NANSA, getting our name out there which is vital for promoting our services.”
Mr Edmond said, “I selected NANSA as my chosen charity as it is a Norfolk organisation supporting local people”.
The Club’s donations will enable the charity to continue providing vital services to children and young people with disabilities, with sessions helping them to develop and learn practical life, social and communication skills. The support from the Club comes at a time when the charity is about to expand its youth services programme into King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, in partnership with West Norfolk Deaf Association.
